Labs

All labs are due by the start of lab one week later on the date indicated on the assignment. The first 1 day late is free, every day after that costs 5 points. After 5 calendar days, it is still worth turning in but it will only be worth at most hals points. Warn me ahead of time of events that will cause you to miss due dates.

Course Topics

This course moves past basic programming and into software engineering. We will look at a number of techniques for organizing and accessing data. We will study arrays, stacks, queues, linked lists, trees, heaps, B-trees and graphs. ALong with organizing data, we will study efficient ways to search and sort the data, We will develop applications that use these techniques to help understand when to use which technique and what the costs and benefits are.

There will be quizzes and tests. There will be considerable code development.
